In the family of free online PDF tool suites, there are some nice references like PDF Zero, EasyPDF, Clever PDF…or my little favorite, ILovePDF. One thing is for sure, developers are inspired by this type of tools. So if you are looking for an alternative to all these beautiful references, today I will introduce you to Soda PDF.
Soda PDF, a fairly complete PDF toolbox
Soda PDF is a fairly comprehensive suite of tools, offering a little over thirty features that can be used directly in your web browser. These features are organized into 7 main categories and will allow you to do just about anything that can be done with a PDF or from a PDF.
The program therefore includes tools for:
- convert a file to PDF: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Images (JPG, GIF, PNG), text file or web page
- convert a PDF to another format: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Image or HTML
- Manage PDF files: merge, split, delete pages, compress
- Read and edit a PDF: rotate pages, add a watermark, number pages
- Sign and Secure: Sign your file, password lock or unlock your PDF
- Convert Image: Some tools dedicated to converting images from different formats to different formats
- Other tools: PDF reader, OCR (to recover text from a PDF)…
As you will have understood, this suite is quite complete in terms of PDF management.
Simple and effective use
Not all of the tools offered by Soda PDF necessarily work in the same way, but are generally quite simple to use.
The first thing to do in most cases is to upload your document from your computer.
In some cases you will have a few options to set and in others you will have absolutely nothing to do.
Finally, upload your edited file!
Once you have retrieved your file, a version will open online in a very complete online PDF editor, packed with options… I would even say that it is almost too complete.
A small downside is that we regret the regular incentives to download the software version of Soda PDF, which is paid for, and to install it on your computer... but hey, that's fair game for a free tool.
In short, Soda PDF is a good alternative and one more solution in the field of free online PDF utilities! If you haven't found your favorite in this field yet, this one might be the right one!
