Some time ago, I introduced you to Acapella Extractor a site that allows you to extract the vocal part of a song. Here is now a fairly effective alternative called SongDonkey.
Created in 2021 by artificial intelligence enthusiasts, SongDonkey is presented as a definitively free tool accessible to all. Thanks to its serverless architecture (which allows it to be free), this tool offers each user priority access without queuing!
Extract vocals and instruments from a song with SongDonkey
You will surely notice that, in addition to being free and easy to use, this tool is extremely effective.
To extract the different tracks from a audio file, the first thing is to upload the file to SongDonkey. To do this, go and search for it with the explorer by clicking on "Start" or simply drag your file onto the SongDonkey home page.
While the file is loading on the site, you can adjust a few options. First, you will be able to select the tracks to extract:
- 2 tracks: vocals / accompaniment
- 4 tracks: vocals / bass / drums / other
- 5 tracks: vocals / bass / drums / other / piano
You will also be able to choose between MP3 and WAV for output file format.

Once everything is ready, click on “Split Audio” to start the extraction. The extraction will take between a few seconds and a few minutes depending on the length of your song.

Once the extraction is complete, the site will show you the list of created tracks. You can listen to them online, download them individually or download all the extracted tracks in a ZIP archive.

The result is really very correct but very variable depending on the chosen pieces. However, the fewer tracks you choose to extract, the more likely you are to get a correct result.
In short, SongDonkey is a really nice tool and what's more 100% free!
