This software helps Exchange administrators to extract mailboxes from an offline or online Exchange Database (EDB) file to a PST file. The software can also open or read old EDB files without having to configure an Exchange server or Active Directory.
Ce EDB to PST Converter helps to backup mailboxes, especially in case of server failure where you may need to manually migrate user mailboxes from an offline database to another active Exchange server in the same organization.

Installation
Installing the app is simple. Here's how:
- Click on the download button.
- Open the executable from the downloads folder. Select the language for installation.
- Then proceed to the welcome screen.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Select the destination folder to install the application.
- Select the name to display in the Start menu.
- Select the shortcut preference.
- Install the app.
- Once that's done, open the app.
As you can see, the installation process is very simple. It only takes a few minutes, with minimal configuration and user intervention.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
After installing Stellar Converter for EDB, launch the software and then select Hosted Exchange or Offline EDB option to extract mailboxes from an online or offline Exchange database file.
We had an offline EDB file that we copied from the server for testing purposes, so we chose the offline EDB option.
Click on " Browse » to select the EDB file (if you know its location). Use the “Search” option to let the software find and list the EDB files present on the system, drive volume or folder. Then select the required EDB file.
You can also modify the location of the temporary path which is used by the software to store temporary data during EDB to PST conversion.
After choosing the EDB file, click on “ Next » to start the EDB file analysis. After the analysis, the software provides a detailed preview that helps you to check and choose specific or desired mailboxes and mail items for backup or migration.
Additionally, you have the ability to search, sort and filter emails to find specific emails based on parameters like To, From, Subject, Attachments, Body, Date, etc.
You can also choose to save the analyzed information using the option Save the analysis in the menu Home. This option allows you to resume the conversion process later without having to scan the EDB file again, which is a considerable time saving.
After previewing, select the mailboxes you want to convert and then click “ Save"
Now you will see the dialog box “ Save as » where you can select mailboxes to export to PST, Live Exchange, Office 365, or other formats.
If you selected Save in PST format or Other formats, click on Next > Browse to choose a save location, then click “OK” to save the converted mailboxes.
You can change the export priority of mailboxes according to your needs, and then click " Next » to start saving EDB mailboxes to PST format.
Select the option Export to Live Exchange", if you want to export the converted mailboxes directly to a Live Exchange server. Then click " Next"
Now choose the Outlook profile configured with Administrator access, enter the password and provide the required domain controller credentials. Then click on “ Next"
The software automatically matches mailboxes to users and provides options to create mailboxes, match mailboxes manually, and apply filters. You can also prioritize mailbox conversion and choose to export critical mailboxes first.
After mapping the mailboxes, click on “ Export » to start backing up the selected mailboxes to the active Exchange server. The software backs up to 4 mailboxes simultaneously to the destination Exchange server.
Similarly, you can choose to export mailboxes directly to Office 365 by selecting Export to Office 365 and clicking on " Next"
Select the Outlook profile configured with administrator access and enter the password. Then click 'OK' to continue.
Although the software automatically maps mailboxes, you can edit and modify the mapping. Then click on “ Export » to save mailboxes and mail items to Office 365.
