In fact, I am going to present to you an online tool that uses Artificial Intelligence to process an mp3 file and separate each of the audio tracks, all online and for free!
This is the site, based on spleeters a tool originally developed by Deezer.
Initially, Spleeter was designed only for songs available on Deezer, but finally the music streaming giant decided to make its open source software available to everyone on GitHub… so the developers behind Melody ML jumped at the chance to offer you a site allowing the use of the tool by the general public!
Separate vocals from instruments on your mp3s with Melody ML
Using Melody ML to separate vocals and instruments on an mp3 file is very simple.
Start by entering your email address to be notified when your file is ready for download.
Then choose which type of separation you want from 2 options:
- Vocals + Drums + Instruments + Others
- Voice + Instruments
Then press “Upload MP3” to retrieve the mp3 you are interested in on your hard drive.
The tool will then start its separation work which will last a few minutes. You will receive an email notification telling you that the work is finished and you can then click on the link provided to collect the different tracks of your song, grouped in an archive file.
The project does not violate any copyright laws, since it does not record any songs and does not distribute them. The downloaded mp3s come from your computer and belong to you. The site is simply responsible for retrieving the data, processing it and throwing the result to you.
I did the test on several files and even if the result is not perfect, it allows to obtain very good files. In the end what works best seems to be the separation of the voice and the music (without separating the instruments).
In short, even if it is not perfect, Melody ML is a very practical site!
