If you've ever tried to print a web page, you'll have probably been annoyed by the amount of stuff that prints in addition to the content that really interests you. If it's an article, the good old copy/paste in Word before printing can do the trick... but it doesn't have to be. Indeed, there are a few tools on the web that can help you. I told you a while ago about PrintFriendly and now I will present to you an alternative which is called The Printliminator.
Clean up a web page before printing with The Printliminator
The Printliminator is an online tool that comes in the form of a bookmark that you can drag to the bookmarks bar of your favorite web browser to use whenever you need it.
So to start, you're going to have to go to the website of The Printliminator. On this page you will find a black button “The Printliminator” that you will have to drag to your favorites bar.
That's it, the tool is ready to use. You should now have a The Printliminator button in your favorites.
To use it, go to a web page you want to print and click on the “The Printliminator” bookmark.
You will now be able to clean the page you want to print. Hover your mouse over the page and you will notice elements that are framed in red. By clicking on them, you will make them disappear.
This way, you can remove ads, images, text boxes and other elements that are useful for online reading, but superfluous when printing. If you make a mistake, don't worry, the tool has an "undo" that allows you to go back. Finally, if you only want to remove the images, there is a "Remove graphics" button that will remove them all and save you ink!
The Printliminator is a free and very practical utility that should simplify your life when you next print web pages!
