If you use Chrome and you're used to having lots of tabs open, you've probably noticed the little speaker that appears on the tabs that play sound... This tip lets you know immediately which tab to go to to turn off the sound.

But did you know that by right-clicking on this tab, you can bring up an option to mute the sound of the tab in question? This is useful because it allows you to be more responsive in the event of an ad being launched unexpectedly at an inconvenient time (meeting, phone call, etc.).

Once you have done this, the sound will be muted on the site in question (in my example Deezer) each time you go there.
To be able to reactivate the sound, you will have to proceed in the same way, that is to say by right-clicking on the tab then selecting the option " Reactivate site sound"
Manage all sites you've muted on Chrome
Since Chrome is pretty neat, there is also an option to manage all the sites you have muted or the sites you have specifically allowed to mute at once.
Just go to the following address from Chrome:
chrome://settings/content/sound

Of course, it doesn't make much sense to mute the sound on sites like YouTube or Deezer, but it can be very practical on sites that regularly display audio or video ads that start automatically... that way, you'll avoid any unpleasant surprises!
