When I work on an IT project, I like to pay attention to the rendering. Whether it's a website, a PowerPoint presentation, a Word document, an infographic, or whatever, I need it to look good.
But one element that I find particularly difficult to test is the choice of a font (font in English). I have plenty on my computer, but the previews are often very limited in both size and sentence (or word) length. On Word, for example, you only see the name of the font written in the font in question, in very small print...

And that's where the tool offered by wordmark.it !
Choosing a font with Wordmark.it
The idea of this free site is very simple. Type a word, a sentence or even a text, press enter and you will be able to see what you have written in all the fonts installed on your computer.
You have several free options like the possibility to change the case (uppercase, lowercase), the possibility to increase the font size... but you can also select several fonts that you like in order to compare them with each other by hiding all the others.
In a paid version of the tool, you can even view fonts on a black background, display Google fonts or save your selection as an image. Suffice to say that most of the interesting features are found in the free version, phew!
Finally, you may need to enable Flash on the site in order to view all the fonts installed on your computer… surprising in 2019, but otherwise there is an alternative by installing Wordmark.it extension for Chrome. This last solution is undoubtedly the best at a time when Adobe has announced the imminent death of Flash.
In short, this site offers a useful little tool for anyone who has ever tried to compare the fonts installed on their computer. It's simple and effective... and that's what we like!
